Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through
the Looking Glass
“Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
This book was designed as a final project for Southern Utah University’s Publication Design class. Through collaboration students explored the themes of Lewis Carroll’s novels ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND, as well as ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. After careful consideration students chose the direction of psychedelic design with a modern twist to capture the oddity that is wonderland. Abstract imagery with duotones and tritones were used to create an emotional response to each of the stories. The students hope that as the reader follows the story of Alice the design will magnify the strangeness that is Alice. This publication received an Award of Excellence in the 2021 UCDA Design Awards. It was featured in 51st Annual UCDA Design Competition Awards Show, in Denver, CO, 2021. It is now part of UCDA Design Collection’s Permanent Archive.
